Departure

Explore the history and charm of East Peloponnese with our 7-day tour package!

You will visit some of the most beautiful and historic places in this region, from its medieval castles and fortresses to its picturesque villages and beaches.

You will start your trip at Athens International Airport (ATH), where you will be met by our friendly driver and transferred to your hotel in Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece and one of the most romantic towns in the country. You will have the rest of the day to explore the village, swim in the azure waters of the Argolic Gulf, and enjoy the view of the Bourtzi Castle, a small island fortress that guards the harbor.

On the second day, you will have the option to visit some of the famous sights of Nafplio, such as the Palamidi Castle, a majestic citadel that overlooks the town, the Archaeological Museum, which displays artifacts from the ancient and medieval periods, and the Lion of Bavaria, a monumental sculpture that commemorates the fallen soldiers of the Greek War of Independence. Alternatively, you can take a SUP tour (stand up paddle boarding) along the coast, where you will have fun and exercise while admiring the scenery.

On the third day, you will leave Nafplio and drive for about three hours to Monemvasia, a stunning medieval town that is built on a rock island connected to the mainland by a narrow bridge. You will have the rest of the day to explore the village, which is also known as the Gibraltar of the East, and eat at one of the traditional taverns, where you can taste the local specialties, such as the Malvasia wine and the Amygdalota (almond cookies).

On the fourth day, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the sights of Monemvasia, such as the Castle of Monemvasia, which dates back to the 6th century and offers a panoramic view of the sea and the mainland, the Church of Agia Sofia, a Byzantine masterpiece that stands on the highest point of the rock, and the Museum of Monemvasia, which showcases the history and culture of the town.

On the fifth day, you will continue your journey to Gythion, a charming port town on the Laconian Gulf. You will have the day to explore the village, which is said to be the birthplace of Helen of Troy and the port of Sparta in ancient times.

You could also take a boat tour to the nearby islands, such as Kranai, where you will see the Tower of Tzanetakis, a historical landmark that houses a folklore museum, and Marathonisi, where you will see the Sea Turtle Rescue Center, a sanctuary for the endangered Caretta Caretta turtles.

On the sixth day, you will have the chance to visit some of the beaches of Gythion, such as Selinitsa, where you will see the Dimitrios shipwreck, a rusty vessel that lies on the shore and creates a striking contrast with the blue sea, and Mavrovouni, where you can enjoy some watersports, such as surfing, windsurfing, or kitesurfing.

On the seventh and last day, you will check out from your hotel in Gythion and drive back to Athens International Airport (ATH) or Kalamata International Airport (KLX), depending on your flight schedule.

You will depart with wonderful memories and experiences from your 7-day tour in East Peloponnese, and we hope to see you again soon!
