Departure

Experience the history and nature of West Peloponnese with our 7-day tour package!

You will discover the amazing sights and attractions of this region, from its ancient monuments and museums to its scenic landscapes and beaches.

You will begin your adventure at Athens International Airport (ATH), where you will be welcomed by our friendly driver and transferred to your hotel in Diakopto, a small and peaceful village on the coast of the Corinthian Gulf. You will have the rest of the day to swim, relax, and enjoy the view of the sea and the mountains from your hotel.

During the 2 hour drive there you will be able to see the Corith Canal.

On the second day, you will have the opportunity to take the Odontotos railway, a historic train that runs through the Vouraikos Gorge, one of the most beautiful natural wonders in Greece. You will admire the stunning scenery of the gorge, with its steep cliffs, lush vegetation, and rushing river. You will also visit the town of Kalavryta, where you will learn about the tragic history of the place during World War II and see the Monastery of Agia Lavra, where the Greek War of Independence began in 1821.

On the third day, you will leave Diakopto and drive for about two hours to Katakolo, a picturesque port town on the Ionian Sea. You will visit the Archaeological Site of Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games and one of the most important sanctuaries of ancient Greece. You will see the Temple of Zeus, the Stadium, the Museum of the Olympic Games, and many other remarkable monuments and artifacts. You will also have some free time, if you wish, to explore the modern town of Olympia, where you can shop, eat, or relax.

On the fourth day, you will continue your journey to Pylos, a charming seaside town on the Navarino Bay. You will visit the Castle of Pylos, also known as Niokastro, a well-preserved fortress that dates back to the 16th century and played a crucial role in the naval battles of the Greek War of Independence. You will also explore the town of Pylos, with its traditional houses, squares, and cafes.

On the fifth day, still in Pylos, you will enjoy a boat ride to Sfaktiria, a small island at the entrance of the Navarino Bay, where you will see the Monument of the Three Admirals, the Tomb of the French Philhellenes, and the Russian Church, all dedicated to the allies who fought and died for the liberation of Greece in 1827. You will also have the chance to swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the island.

On the sixth day, you will head to Kalamata, the capital and largest city of the Messinia region. You will have the day to explore the town, visit the Castle of Kalamata, the Archaeological Museum, the Church of the Holy Apostles, and the Benakeion Library. You will also swim in the long and sandy beach of Kalamata, and taste the famous Kalamata olives and other local delicacies.

On the seventh and final day, you will check out from your hotel in Kalamata and drive to Kalamata International Airport (KLX) or Athens International Airport (ATH), depending on your flight schedule.

You will depart with wonderful memories and experiences from your 7-day tour in West Peloponnese, and we hope to see you again soon!
